Course Description |

This is a course designed to get the student to think differently about (as well as replace) conventional techniques in order to create a more unique "progressive" style and sound. Also focuses on the student's ability to execute challenging passages and develop 'headroom' in their technical ability. Course concepts explore such topics as chordal enhancement (from open chords on down the line), scale patterns that deviate from the norm, licks which involving new techniques and approaches, and rhythmic ideas. Excerpts from this Michael Harris' own original songs are included to illustrate these concepts, as well as mandatory exercises to build technique and dexterity.
