Self Directed Learning:

With the huge variety of books and videos available, many students have used the self-directed approach to learning. Self-directed instruction (books, videos, and online tutorials) can be effective learning aids, but without the feedback of a good teacher, learning can be haphazard. You may have a strong desire to study and improve, but don’t necessarily know where to begin. And although you might have access to a variety of available study materials, it can be difficult to build a long term, customized plan of study that a qualified instructor could provide in a private lesson environment.
