Music School:
Commercial music trade schools and music programs at colleges and universities
can often offer the best musical training. When you enroll in a music school or program, you commit
to spending significant time (and money) into your music education. Most of your fellow students
have selected music as their careers, and often have the talent to back it up. In addition, teachers
are often top-notch players and instructors. This environment can really jump-start a player’s progress
and help them to focus.
However, music school is not generally an option for adults, or for those who do
not want music to be their primary career. The time and expense involved in enrolling in music school
generally excludes those who already are playing professionally, but who want to increase their skills,
those who are just starting out on their instrument, or those who have life situations that keep them
from making learning music their full time occupation for the next few years.
